Until we meet again, Applebee's

This venture to hike the Appalachian Trail is often a desire for many, yet there are a long list of obstacles preventing them from pursuing this dream. Whether time, money, family, or health, there is always reasons to NOT take this adventure.

As some of you know, for over a year I have been working at the local Applebee's restaurant as a waiter to fund this project. I called it my "FUN" job, because I was FUNdraising!

This was an excellent opportunity to engage with people and share my project, as conversation casually allowed (I'm gifted in this way).

Over the many months, wonderful friendships were formed with the staff and clientele. They have certainly shaped who I am today.

I'd like to think that I have left an impression on them.

I find myself repeating "pivot" with each passing day.

When I wrote this project, returning to Applebee's after my hike was not my intention, but it is something I look forward to upon my safe return.

Thank you staff and patrons of Applebee's for helping to make this project possible.
